There are many questions and posts that i have been through on if testers role has diminished with agile mode of delivery coming into play and if agile teams should be capable of not just developing but testing their code. While this may sound great in theory, my experience working with developers and software testers tells me testing is a skill and cannot be left to a team of developers to test their code.

Given a choice, development and testing teams would prefer Waterfall over Agile. The main reason for this preference is that the Waterfall method provides stable and documented requirements. It is also less dependent on highly skilled resources and helps provide time for design and quality assurance activities.
