This API based platform designed from the ground up to automate the migration of physical, virtual and cloud based servers into and between public, private and hybrid cloud environments. The company's cost effective solution helps transition the data, apps and services from on-site to cloud for businesses and entertains challenges of service providers and enterprise users effectively. The RiverMeadow SaaS supports an unlimited number of service providers and enterprise users at a given time. To complete the server migration process one needs the cloud URL and credentials.
RiverMeadow enCloud as Cloud Migration as a Service (C-MaaS) employs an automated four-step process that Collects, Converts, Deploys and Synchronizes servers into almost any target cloud stack, simplifying cloud migration projects from start-to-finish. Once the user selects the volumes to be migrated, the enCloud service gathers parameters such as disk size and creates an image of the source volumes. Collected source volume images are converted into target hypervisor disk images and tested. As servers are verified in conversion and testing, the enCloud service deploys the disk image to the target cloud stack where the image is booted as a virtual machine on the target hypervisor, automatically formatting and setting parameters such as disk volume size, OS, memory allocation, etc. As a final step, the enCloud service provides a synchronization process, which looks at the source server, collects only the residual transaction data that occurred post the collection process and migrates it to the new instance in the cloud, completing the migration.
"RiverMeadow's cloud migration SaaS helps customers easily and cost-effectively onboard servers into VMware vCloud environments by automating the migration process from start-to-finish," said Parag Patel, vice president, Global Strategic Alliances, VMware. "It can help accelerate the onboarding of enterprise workloads into VMware environments, and we are pleased that RiverMeadow will offer this solution to our community of VSPP partners."
