Yahoo Launches Big Data Analytics Tool Genome For Advertisers

genomeYahoo has today launched a big data analytics tool called Genome, for online advertisers leveraging its expertise on big data. Genome, designed to leverage data to improve advertiser ROI, can provide marketers with actionable insights enabling them to conduct campaigns that help meet their objectives, and overcome an ever-evolving set of industry challenges that include the proliferation of data, fragmentation of technology, and outdated planning and buying techniques.

Genome comes with very useful features for advertisers offering Yahoo's proprietary data including registration, search and behavioral data along with access to  Yahoo's premium inventory available from Yahoo, AOL, Microsoft partnership in brand safe environments. Genome's analytics helps marketers sort the big data landscape. This portable suite leverages leading campaign and user analytics to anticipate, optimize, and measure audience performance, turning insights into actionable media executions.

Genome's core technology is OSM, an innovative and interconnected technology stack that manages diverse data sources to provide an innovative approach to uncovering optimal audiences at scale, resulting from Yahoo!'s acquisition of interclick.

This announcement comes at the back of recent Google's offering of Big Query which also is aimed at enabling customer to upload data and provide powerful analytics and for free upto 100 GB of data/month as an on-demand service.
