filelockerFile encryption and sharing service FileLocker will begin offering its file sharing solution hosted in its UK-based data centre in the next few weeks. The company said this would put it on the ginger list of firms offering hosting for file sharing services inside the European Union, specifically the United Kingdom, enabling compliance with the Data Protection Act.

amazon clouddriveAmazon has finally introduced file sync to its Cloud Drive service, getting another step closer to competing with popular personal cloud services like Dropbox, SkyDrive and Box. Last year Amazon had introduced its Cloud Drive apps for the Mac and Windows operating systems. However the app didn't allow users to synchronise their files, a very basic functionality for any cloud storage solution. It appeared that Amazon was more interested in serving its own cloud ecosystem than a user's personal data.

According to a survey conducted by Strategy Analytics, iCloud  and iTunes Match made up 27% of the entire cloud storage usage in the United States in the Q3 2012 period.

Netflix will not issue new API keys from now and it will not accept any new API affiliates. The company will cease to provide a test environment to developers and its developer forum is now set to read-only. The company's OData catalog will be closed on April 8.
