sap 360 customer solutionIf you are able to imagine a CRM system powered by a big data platform, its evident that benefits of understanding a customer journey, engagement and service is immense and the feedback can turn up sales without a doubt. This is exactly what SAP is intending to do with its new surge into customer experience transformation space.

SAP's new product SAP® 360 Customer solution is powered by the SAP HANA® platform and the solution is set to harness the power of in-memory computing, cloud, enterprise mobility and collaboration to allow organizations to revolutionize the way they engage with their customers beyond traditional customer relationship management (CRM). The announcement was made at SAPPHIRE® NOW + SAP® TechEd.

SAP has invested heavily backing up itself with results in the field of in-memory technology and big data with its flagship SAP HANA product surrounding which the entire product ecosystem is being matured. This will be a great experiment to hit the nail confirming its gradual supremacy gain over Oracle as this aims to enable integrated application services, key enterprise capabilities for high availability, disaster recovery and integrated text analytics, as well as key OLTP optimizations that enables SAP to release its first mission-critical SAP Business Suite application, SAP CRM, to run completely on the SAP HANA platform.

SAP® 360 Customer solution already has early adopters in Lenovo which has backed up the performance claims and has said it has seen 30 times faster performance in key processes during the customer validation phase alone.

The company has revealed that SAP® CRM application powered by SAP HANA is considered as key component within the the core of SAP 360 Customer solution SAP lays in-roads for its other products on cloud like SAP® Customer OnDemand solution, the SAP® Jam social software platform and several mobile solutions. SAP CRM is included in its SAP® Rapid Deployment solutions suite which enables customers to go live within 12 weeks or less and offer a complete package of pre-configured software, implementation services, content and end-user enablement for a fixed price and scope.

If this solution sees the success that is expected out of it and is rolled out to its huge acquired customer base from Ariba early this year, the competitors may very well take a note of the impact this could have within the customer service space.

"This is a game-changing solution that will help companies market better, sell better, service better and truly create remarkable experiences for their customers," said Bill McDermott, co-CEO, SAP. "With SAP 360 Customer powered by SAP HANA, companies gain true 360-degree customer insight that is real-time, actionable and available anywhere."
