ProfitBricks Launches Lucrative Referral Programme For Its IaaS

ProfitBricksProfitBricks, the company that offers Cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) company, has launched a referral programme offering 25 per cent of a customer’s net revenue as compensation. The Company is also developing a reseller program that will offer similar benefits and is currently enrolling early VARs interested in offering next-generation cloud computing services.

A press release said the company was opening up its early-stage reseller program by inviting select Value Added Resellers (VARs) to work with the cloud computing provider. So, who can avail of the referral programme? According to ProfitBricks, it was aimed at developers, IT consultants, system integrators, independent software vendors and even well-connected technology influencers looking for recurring revenue streams from a next-generation cloud provider.

"We are seeing high growth in services related to the cloud while knowledge and labor pools remain tight,” said John Bostick, President of dbaDIRECT, a select referral partner of ProfitBricks.”

Qualified referral partners can earn as much as 25 per cent of ProfitBricks' net revenue on customers when they refer a sales lead that signs up by March 31, 2013. For customers who sign between April 1 and June 30, the referral bonus, though will be 20 per cent of net revenue. In all cases, compensation will continue for the length of the customer contract up to three years.

"We believe the ProfitBricks Referral Program offers referral partners the most lucrative option for selling cloud services,” said VP of Business Development at ProfitBricks Scott Brazina. “We want a chance to prove ourselves to the channel, ISVs, Telecoms, startups and other organizations with IaaS needs. This kind of program demonstrates our commitment to the channel.”

Founded in 2010 by the previous co-founders of 1&1 AG, ProfitBricks, which has its headquarters in Berlin, Germany, and Massachusetts, USA, claims to have built the world's first, true virtual datacentre, enabling users custom defined instances with live vertical scaling and class-leading double redundant cloud storage

Highlighting the positives of its services, the company claimed in the press release that an independent test conducted by Cloud Spectator had shown that ProfitBricks had outperformed both Amazon EC2 with 227 per cent greater UnixBench score and the Rackspace Cloud with 194 percent faster I/O.

Among many new technology firsts, ProfitBricks introduced an InfiniBand backed network to cloud computing, the same technology used in high performance computing environments (HPC). This provides the ProfitBricks cloud architecture with up to 80 Gbit/s private network speed, more than eight times the available speed from any other cloud provider.
