smartbaerSmartBear has grown from strength to strength within last two years providing development and testing software with a difference. The company has grown with a focused acquisition strategy throughout last few years with key acquisitions like AlterSite, AQTime, SoapUI, LoadUI after the original merger with AutomatedQA.

The company has announced that David Yaches has joined SmartBear Software to lead the company’s strategic partner campaign as new Vice President of Corporate Development. David comes with an experience of handling more than 40 M&A, strategic alliances and business development transactions valued at over $500 million. With his expertise, the company has said that its year to come will be focused around partnerships.

“As part of SmartBear’s core strategy this past year, we positioned the company to collaborate rather than compete with hundreds of software vendors including server data vendors, ALM tool vendors, agile tool vendors and others,” said Joe Krivickas, CEO at SmartBear. “Now, SmartBear is ready to execute and form strategic partnerships to further deploy our software quality tools around the world. I am delighted that David Yaches has joined our team in corporate development to execute our strategic partner initiatives in the new year.”

A VP with background of sales of BeyondTrust Corporation to Symark International, Wavemaker Software to VMware and Sigaba to Proofpoint sends a signal that, year to come will see a ride of more acquisitions than partnerships if the company sticks to its tried and tested growth strategy from couple of years.

API Complete, Integration with Microsoft development platforms, HTML5 and Cross Browser testing capability to TestComplete, Agile code review with CodeCollaborator enhancements are some of the key releases that have gone in the past year apart from its collaboration efforts with various product vendors.
