performance testingIntel Graphics Performance Analyzer software is now being prepped to help developers fine tune their apps for performance on an Intel powered Android smartphone. The Intel Graphics Performance Analyzer manages to accomplish this by identifying bottlenecks in app, effectively enabling them to discover where their app is pushing for performance most. In this way it lets developers easily isolate problems.

Intel® Graphics Performance Analyzers (Intel® GPA) are an easy-to-use suite of optimization tools for analyzing and optimizing games, media, and other graphics intensive applications. The Intel GPA suite includes:

  • Intel GPA Frame Analyzer is a powerful, intuitive, best-in-class single frame analysis and optimization tool.
  • Intel GPA System Analyzer Heads-up Display (HUD) and Standalone provide straightforward initial analysis and provides interactive Microsoft Direct3D pipeline state overrides.
  • Intel GPA Platform Analyzer provides a timeline view for analysis of tasks, threads, Microsoft DirectX*, OpenCL™ and GPU-accelerated media applications in context.
  • Intel GPA Media Analyzer: See how efficiently your code utilizes hardware acceleration on Intel® Core™ processor-based PCs with Intel® HD Graphics or run real-time media performance analysis of encode and decode metrics to get in-depth, real-time media performance analysis.

Intel says that they plan to make the Graphics Performance Analyzer available to Android developers soon. Either way, with this upcoming release of Intel Graphics Performance Analyzer for Android, it’s apparent that Intel has plans to unleash a lot of Intel powered Android phones out into the market, and likely in the not too distant future.
